We are Kamila, Anna, Bella, and Lukas - a family of four who share a love for spending time together in the great outdoors cross-country skiing. We love nothing more than exploring the beautiful winter scenery while getting some exercise in the process.

We are originally from the Czech Republic, a country with a rich history and Nordic skiing culture, but we now call the US our home. So we bring a bit of our Czech heritage with us into everything we do, including cross-country skiing here. It was a big decision to move across the world, leaving behind our families and friends, but we wanted to embark on a new adventure and experience living in this amazing country.

Even though we now have to drive 3+ hours to reach the mountains, cross-country skiing has become an integral part of our family's winter joys. While out on the trails, we enjoy each other's company and chat as we glide through the snow. Nordic skiing can be a relatively low-intensity activity, suitable for almost everyone. But it can also be physically demanding, providing fantastic, natural full-body workout. Therefore we many times take turns leaving the kids with the other parent for an hour or two to ski faster and get those endorphins pumping! We like pulling Bella in a chariot sled or towing both girls or just one of them with our custom-made tow ropes.

Cross-country skiing also provides us with a great sense of accomplishment. As we gradually build up our endurance and tackle more challenging terrain, we feel a sense of pride and satisfaction in what we've achieved as a family. We're always learning as well, whether it's about nature, skiing technique, waxing, equipment, nutrition, or how to overcome obstacles.

We created the Nordic Skiing Family website and social media channels to share our experiences with others and encourage families to get outside and enjoy the thrills of cross-country skiing.
