The FIS Cross-Country World Cup made its highly anticipated stop in Davos, Switzerland, where the picturesque alpine venue and electrifying night sprints illuminated by blazing fires set the stage for an unforgettable weekend. Johannes H. Klæbo once again demonstrated his dominance, leading Team Norway to victory in the team sprints before securing his 52nd career sprint triumph in the individual race. On the women’s side, Jonna Sundling cemented her status as the sprint queen of Davos, winning both the team sprint alongside Emma Ribom and the individual skate sprint. The team sprint events were a fantastic celebration for the home crowd, with Team Switzerland claiming two podiums. In the classic-style battles, Martin L. Nyenget delivered a masterclass to claim victory over rival Iivo Niskanen, proving his mettle in the 20km classic. Meanwhile, Astrid Ø. Slind capped off the weekend with a brilliant performance in the women’s 20km classic, earning her first-ever World Cup victory after years of trying.
