In 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, she, along with teammate Kikkan Randall, captured the first-ever Olympic gold medal for the U.S. in cross-country skiing in the team sprint event. This historic win was a defining moment, not just for Diggins but for the sport in America, inspiring countless young athletes to chase their dreams. Furthermore, at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Diggins won the silver medal in the 30-kilometer skate race and the bronze medal in the individual sprint, making her the most decorated American cross-country skier of all time. She has consistently been a top contender in the FIS Cross Country World Cup, securing podium finishes and twice won the women's overall title – the Crystal Globe, the biggest annual prize in cross-country skiing. First time in 20/21 season, becoming the first American woman to win a season title and the first American to win one since Bill Koch in 1982. And for second time in 23/24 season. Diggins has also won six medals, including two golds, at the FIS World Ski Championships, from 2013 to 2023. She was the first American to win an individual event gold medal by winning the 10 km skate race in 2023 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Planica, Slovenia. Diggins' leadership however extends beyond individual accolades. She has been instrumental in fostering a culture of collaboration and support within the U.S. Ski Team, helping to elevate the performance of her teammates and the program as a whole.
