FIS Cross-Country World Cup – Ruka, Finland
The FIS Cross-Country World Cup season kicked off with an electrifying start in Ruka, Finland, offering thrilling moments and unforgettable performances. On Day 1, Finnish fans had plenty to cheer about as their own Iivo Niskanen, the undisputed master of classic style, secured his fifth career victory in Ruka with a commanding win in the Men’s 10km Individual Start. On the women’s side, Sweden’s Frida Karlsson opened her season in style, taking top honors in the Women’s Classic 10km. Day 2 saw rising star Johanna Hagstroem claim her first-ever World Cup victory in the women’s sprint, while Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo reminded everyone why he’s a legend, winning yet again in the men’s race. The action-packed weekend concluded with Day 3 showcasing a Norwegian sweep in the men’s race, while Jessie Diggins, last year’s overall World Cup champion, triumphed in the women’s competition.
